The Computer Science program at the University of Maryland allows students to work together in a collaborative workspace working on real problems. The program makes use of the Computer Science Education for Tomorrow Initiative to offer new technologies, special honors and entrepreneurship courses and such advents as massive open online courses.
This university is located in the heart of the Baltimore-Washington technology corridor. The student-faculty ratio is low, so this allows students to have untopped focus on their work. Students are provided the opportunity to work in computer science laboratories to give them the skills needed in the workplace. The BS degree offered is ABET accredited and they also offer a BA, interdisciplinary major, a minor, and a computing certificate.
